Section 19
Functions, Duties and Powers of Local Land Use Council
In addition to the functions, duties and powers mentioned elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Local Land Use Council shall be as follows:-
(a) To approve local land use plans,
(b).: Collection, analysis and utilization of land related data,
(c) To update the land use area map of his level,
(d) To classify land use sub-sectors of their level as required,
(e) Instructing the local land use implementation committee to make the information regarding land use area classification available to stakeholders as specified,
(f) Preparing and implementing procedures and standards for the implementation of local level land use plans,
(g) To monitor the implementation of the land use plan,
(h) Recommending land use change with clear grounds and reasons,
(i) To take action for use other than the prescribed use,
(h) Awarding individuals, families or organizations that have made significant contributions to land use,
(k) Protecting religious, historical, cultural, archaeological, public, community, sites,
(l) To formulate and pass the necessary policies related to land use of their level.
